Multiphysics modeling of geosystems: Development of new computational frameworks for modeling coupled multiphysics processes of fluid flow, energy transport and geomechanical deformation in reservoirs with geologic and engineering complexities
Induced seismicity and ground deformation: Assessment and mitigation of the risks of induced seismicity and ground subsidence/uplift during extraction and injection of fluids in petroleum, groundwater, geothermal, and underground energy storage applications
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence: Modeling geologic carbon storage and leakage along faults. Transfer Learning for assessment of unconventional energy resources
Reservoir characterization: Bayesian estimation of subsurface properties by assimilating flow, seismic and geodetic data with coupled multiphysics simulations
